Resonance: Rhythm in You - Alpha Prototype
A downloadable game for Windows
In a distant part of existence, neither near nor far, lies a land of relative insignificance. Here, within a kingdom ruled by tyranny, a man discovers the music within us all.
Resonance: Rhythm in You is the first title by the upcoming studio Resonance Games. Follow the story of our nameless Hero as he traverses the town of Zephra, a place that is no stranger to hardship. After stumbling upon a mysterious power, however, the world will unravel into unforgettable quirky characters and beats from a variety of genres.
Engage in Resonance's completely unique musical battle system, inspired by RPG combat systems and driven by the beat. Explore the world, interacting with a variety of characters and get a taste for the narrative-rich world we hope to develop.
We're considering this the 'alpha prototype': an experience that hopes to capture the essence of what Resonance: Rhythm in You hopes to become. We've begun finding people for the team, developing our business model and getting work done on concept art and our eventual pixel-art aesthetic. Please keep in mind that most of the assets in this alpha prototype are placeholder, and meant to give you, the player, a reliable sense of what we are aiming for.

It's really good to see such positive feedback at this early stage. We have identified some areas of improvement just from this prototype, but with most of the feedback being positive, it let's us know we're on the right track!

Well, you were all fancy about my small donation so now I feel responsible to give some feedback. I recommend you check out this playlist. It's made a YouTube group by the name Extra Credits. They have some pretty sound advice for game companies and such.

I'm not in any way, shape, or form affiliated with them, but they point out a lot of mistakes and how to avoid them.
Furthermore, if you know of the indie game Super Worldbox (of who I am also not affiliated with) They recently had troubles with trademark trolls and copyright. So, make sure you get copyrights and trademarks down if you are really dedicated to building this game. Here is a reddit post they made about their situation. Maybe you can learn from their mistakes.

Other than that have fun coding and designing. Game looks pretty good and with enough time it can be a great game.

Your second to last attempt of the boss at the end had me on the edge of my seat, it was awesome to see you improve so quickly.
There are definitely things we want to improve upon, one being the pacing of the various mechanics and when they're introduced. As you experienced, it can get quite overbearing having all those things shoved at once (but you eventually got the up block! :D).
We're also glad you liked the Ooze character so much (the frog!). His design will actually end up quite a bit different in the final game, but he'll still remain a frog so don't worry!
